Singer-Songwriter-Artist Arts Nonprofit Founder Creative Aging Champion Performer, Storyteller, Creator, Public Speaker
Inspiring creativity in individuals of all ages!
After sixteen years as founder and executive director of Music for Seniors, a robust Nashville-based arts nonprofit, I have passed the baton, but I am not retiring: I am “authentically rewiring.”
As I pursue and share my creative passions, I seek also to inspire and influence older adults (and individuals of all ages) to ignite that magical spark within, lighting the way to meaningful creative work. Whatever that looks like for each of us. This “work” is the flow* that can offer fulfilling self-expression. It can provide a voice for our soul while leading us to authentic and joyful connections and ultimately, to better physical and mental health.
So stay tuned! Join me on my creative aging journey as I look forward to hearing about your own. —Sarah
*Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi introduced flow theory in the 1970s based on research examining people who did activities for pleasure, even when they were not rewarded with money or fame. He considered artists, writers, athletes, chess masters, and surgeons – individuals who were involved in activities they preferred.
